I have bought windows 7, but before I can install it, I must back up my files and settings, as I have XP at the moment. I have bought an external hard drive, as the memory sticks available did not have enough capacity to enable me to ‘empty’ my computer, ready to install windows 7. When I attempt to “back up”, I only get the options of ‘disc’ or ‘floppy disc’. I feel I am pretty old and unknowledgable to be asking this, but having done all the plugging in and connecting of the external drive to the desk top computer, what do I do now??? Please make the instructions simple and thorough.
