There isn’t much to say about the Adobe Creative Suite besides that it is the de facto standard in graphical arts software. Sure there are freeware programs that perform similarly, but if you want to use the real deal, the Adobe class products is what is generally used throughout the world and in real-world design shops.
If you want to edit photos, design a newsletter, poster, develop websites, program flash – this is the package that does it all. CS4 improves upon the success of prior Create Suite packages and includes even more features to help you with your design process.
The student version worked as advertised. Once you get the package, you install it and then you get a special serial number, which you then have to active on a website. You need to attach your student ID or other materials to prove you are a higher education student. Once you authenticate that with them, you can register the product so that you can use it after 30 days.
One part that I could do without is Version Cue. To me, this software component is unnecessary and adds unneeded bloat to the software. Besides that, the software works great – although make sure your system has at least 3GB of RAM to perform consistently fast.
